Pishee ("we," "our," or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. As a company based in The Netherlands and Latvia, we adhere to the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and share your personal data when you use the Pishee application and website.

2.1 Information You Provide
Account Information: Email address, username, password, native language, and target language.
User Content: The text you type and the audio (voice) you record while interacting with our lessons and the Pishee AI Tutor.
Transaction Data: Purchase history for subscriptions and coin packs (processed by Apple App Store or Google Play; we do not store full credit card details).
2.2 Information Collected Automatically
Usage Data: Details on your lessons, streaks, league standing, coins earned, and interaction patterns.
Device Information: Device model, operating system, unique device identifiers, and IP address.
Crash & Performance Data: Logs generated if the app crashes or experiences errors.

4. Artificial Intelligence & Third-Party Processors
To provide our Service, we share data with specific third-party service providers. We have data processing agreements in place with these parties.
4.1 Generative AI Providers
We send your text and voice inputs to the following providers to generate real-time feedback, translations, and corrections. We generally configure these services not to use your data for their model training, though they process the data to generate the response.
Google (Gemini/PaLM): Used for advanced reasoning and language processing.
OpenAI: Used for conversational capabilities.
Microsoft (Azure OpenAI): Used for enterprise-grade, secure AI processing.
Anthropic: Used for nuanced language corrections.
4.2 Analytics & User Engagement
We use these tools to understand how you use the app and to communicate with you.
Mixpanel: We use Mixpanel to track user journeys (e.g., "Completed Lesson 1," "Entered League"). This helps us improve the user experience.
Google Analytics: Used for general traffic analysis and attribution.
OneSignal: Used to deliver push notifications (e.g., "Your streak is about to freeze!").
4.3 Infrastructure & Stability
Firebase (Google): We use Firebase for authentication, database storage, and hosting.
Crashlytics (Google): Reports app crashes so we can fix bugs quickly.
Sentry: Used for real-time error tracking and performance monitoring.
Laravel Cloud & Nightwatch: Our backend runs on Laravel Cloud. We use Laravel Nightwatch for monitoring the health and uptime of our internal APIs and servers.
4.4 Payments & Subscription Management
We use third-party services to manage your subscription status and purchase validation.
RevenueCat: We use RevenueCat as a subscription infrastructure provider. It acts as a bridge between Pishee and the app stores (Apple App Store, Google Play Store) to validate receipts, manage subscription status, and handle purchase restoration. RevenueCat processes transaction identifiers and subscription details but does not collect or store your full credit card or banking information.
5. How We Use Your Data for AI Training
This is central to Pishee's mission. We develop our own Custom Models to better understand learner mistakes.
Anonymization: Before we use your voice or text for training our internal models, we strip it of personal identifiers (User IDs, names, emails).
Voice Policy: We analyze the linguistic properties of your voice (pronunciation, tone) to improve our speech recognition. We do not use your voice to clone your identity.
No Sale: We do not sell your raw voice or text data to third-party data brokers.
6. Data Retention
Account Data: Retained as long as your account is active. You can request deletion at any time.
Anonymized Training Data: Because this data is stripped of personal identifiers, it may be retained indefinitely to support our AI models.
Inactive Accounts: If you do not use Pishee for 24 months, we may delete your account and personal data, though we may retain a hash of your email to prevent abuse.
7. Your Rights (GDPR)
Under the GDPR, you have the following rights:
Right to Access: Request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
Right to Rectification: Correct inaccurate data (e.g., changing your email).
Right to Erasure ("Right to be Forgotten"): Request that we delete your account and personal data.
Right to Object: Object to our processing of your data for direct marketing or legitimate interests.
Right to Portability: Receive your data in a structured, machine-readable format.

8. International Data Transfers
Some of our processors (like OpenAI, Mixpanel, Google) are based in the United States. When we transfer data outside the European Economic Area (EEA), we rely on:

Data Privacy Framework: For US companies certified under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework.
9. Children's Privacy
Pishee is not intended for children under the age of 13 (or 16 in certain EU jurisdictions) without parental consent. We do not knowingly collect data from children under this age. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us immediately.
